Westmorland Caravan Park given David Bellamy Gold Award for the third year running

We are delighted to announce that Westmorland Caravan Park has been awarded the 2011 David Bellamy Gold Award for the fifth year running.

Taking part in the David Bellamy Awards scheme means that the park is regularly assessed by the scheme’s team of local wildlife experts. The assessors look at the steps we are taking to:

  • Manage our land as a haven for wildlife
  • Reduce our use of energy, water and other resources
  • Reduce, reuse and recycle the waste we produce
  • Support our local communities

David Bellamy uses the assessors’ reports (and any comments received from members of the public) to then make his awards each year.

The David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme is one of the longest running green tourism awards in the UK.  Being awarded a gold accolade for the third year running is a great honour for Westmorland Caravan Park and we strive to maintain our land and resources to this level for many years to come.
