New Patisserie
You may have seen an empty counter in our Southbound Farm Shop. Well, on the 19th July we filled it up with the best, locally made patisserie. We are sure that journeys will be broken if only to get more supplies of Patrick More's famous 'muddies'. Now into our third week the cakes are proving to be a real hit and this week Patrick was featured on Border T.V.'s "Loookaround" programme.
More Cheese Anyone?
The new cheeses from Wardhall Dairy are proving to be a real hit with customers. There are four additions: Arkleby a cows milk cheese in a Camembert style; Parsonby a semi soft, wash rinded cows milk cheese with a good flavour; Leathers Gill, a goats cheese in a Boucheron style, flavoured with green peppercorns and Prospect, a salt wash rinded goats cheese.
If that were not enough, we met with two intepid farmers from Middleton in Teasdale that are making a superb brie like cheese from the creamy milk of their Dexter herd. They also produce bries, hard cheeses and blue cheeses in both goats and sheeps milk, so watch this space!
